The ‘Akasarasa’ textile is a charming bird print based on a fragment found during a trip to the Tohoku region of Japan. It features graceful floral and butterfly elements overlaying a deep rust red stencil dye pattern. The original document is thought to have been made during the late Edo Period during the mid-1800s and was most likely used as votive cloth by farmers hoping for abundant crops.

Our linen lampshades are all made-to-order in New York and have an approximate dispatch time of 35-40 working days. Shades can be made to order in a variety of shapes & sizes. For more information, please contact us here.
